Her hostel wasn't that good, it turns out. Everyday there was a new staff member behind the desk, they knew very little, and had no maps to give her of the city. They did hang one on the wall, but it was in Bulgarian. Due to that she had to find her away around town by asking lots of strangers, though everyone was very helpful. It took her some time to get places, but get there she did and see stuff she did also. She said that Rila Monastery was much smaller than pictures led her to believe; it is so small that they only let in eight people at a time.
She almost fell victim to a scam artists because she arrived in Sofia tired on a Saturday and couldn't find any open exchange places. Realizing her mistake, she ran after and caught the guy, who looked surprised, handed her back her money, and ran away. Funnily enough, the very next day he asked if she wanted to exchange some money! She pulled a "I remember you....", his eyes widened, and he ran away again. There aren't that many Asians in Sofia. What an idiot.
Today we relax and take it easy. We're going to drink some beer, eat dinner, and read on the great verandas provided by hostel. At about 10PM Tottenham vs. Man. City is on TV, so I'm going to have a beer and root for Tottenham. I kind of doubt Shiz will (watch TV that
